The Nearby Nanna and The Not-So Far Pa

About the Project

The project actively engaged with libraries and bookshops in the Bundaberg Region and greater Queensland to promote self-published children's picture book “The Nearby Nanna”.

Funding contributed towards purchasing promotional material, advertising and travel expenses to library and author talks for “The Nearby Nanna”. This grant also supported facilitating costs of illustrations, formatting and editing of since published second book “The Not-so Far Pa”.

When and Where 

Ongoing from June 2022 – various Queensland locations including Gin Gin, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Hervey Bay and Childers.

Statistics

  • Number of artists/cultural workers employed: 1
  • Sleepy Time Stories Reads “The Nearby Nanna”: 20,500 views on YouTube.
  • Presented writing and self-publishing workshop: 200 students

  1. Toured libraries in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Hervey Bay, Childers, Agnes Water and Gin Gin.
  2. Provided opportunity to further develop skills in public speaking and presenting workshops.
